Description
The words are not enough to describe Tortoli Palace, built at the beginning of the fourteenth century, when San Gimignano was in the period of its utmost splendour. Its facade in Gothic Style is enriched by two couples of mullioned windows of great value that make it one of the monuments of the town. In the palace we can live over again the Middle Age, we can admire the towers, Cisterna’ Square and at the same time we can enjoy as far as the eye can see a wonderful view on the Tuscan countryside, the only palace in San Gimignano which lets you enjoy this view. In the palace there are three bedrooms with private bathroom and an apartment furnished with ancient pieces, stone walls, wooden-beam ceilings and floors in Tuscan cotto. Next to the palace there is the apartment “Casa Castello”, in a wonderful Palace with Tower, built at the beginning of the thirteenth century. Casa Castello faces on Cisterna Square, surrounded by the monumental towers. The apartment is furnished in style with wooden beam ceilings and floors in wood and in Tuscan cotto
