Dates: October 5 - 9, 2020 (opening dinner, Oct. 4, leaving the B&B on Oct. 10)
Limited to 15 participants
Tuition: Early bird rate, $750 (ends August 1, 2019); regular rate, $850.
In Fall 2020 we will offer our tenth annual advanced intensive in the Tuscan countryside. Our friends, the Rossi family, will once again welcome us to their highly rated bed and breakfast, Podere Ponte a Nappo, just outside the walls of the gorgeous hill town of San Gimignano.
Location: Ponte A Nappo Bed & Breakfast, San Gimignano, Italy
We plan to join with up to 15 other experienced practitioners of narrative therapy for 5 days, with a welcoming dinner on the night before the workshop begins. In the month before we meet we will correspond with participants to learn of the contexts they work in, the practices they are excited to develop further, and the challenges they are facing in their practice. We will use this input to plan a set of experiences that meet as many specific requests, contexts, and challenges as we can in our time together. We will also share some of our newest work and provide structure for exercises and reflection.
We will meet for two 3-hour blocks each day, often in the beautiful and lushly maintained gardens of the bed and breakfast. This will leave time for extended walks in the town or the countryside, visits to other hill towns, drives through the Chianti country, or just relaxing among the olive groves and vineyards. Partners, family members, or traveling companions will be welcome to join us for meals and excursions.
Registration: We plan the course with the assumption that attendees have considerable familiarity and experience with narrative ideas and practices. If you are interested, contact us by clicking here, by calling 847-866-7879, or by email at eftc@narrativetherapychicago.com. We will correspond with you to be sure that there is a good fit between our intentions and your desires. Once we have mutually agreed that the fit is right, we will send you a payment link and an invoice.
In order to qualify for group rates, all participants must stay at B&B Ponte a Nappo throughout the training. Once you have been accepted into the training, you will need to book or contact Ponte a Nappo directly to register for your room.
Continuing Education Credits: 30 total (for six hours of training each day). A certificate of completion will be provided to each participant on the final day of the training. See below for details on CECs.
Accommodations: Accommodations, which are billed separately, are arranged by participants directly with - and paid to - the bed and breakfast in San Gimignano, Ponte a Nappo.
**We are an approved provider of continuing education credits (CECs) by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation for social workers (LCSW/LSW) and marriage and family therapists (MFT) We provide certificates of attendance for our workshops and trainings.
